picasso 2 - sidewalk chalk

As many of our loyal readers know, we are currently nomads! So, though we have a wealth of new photos to share with you, we do not have our computer to help with all of the uploading. While we wait for our house to be finished (and take advantage of the amazing hospitality of Nurit, Roy, and Tori), I have one last post to share with you.

When we return, you'll see: Liora's last swim class, her first haircut, our trip to the beach with DeeDee and Aunt Gabi, Uncle Paul and family, Liora's love of popsicles, and some other cute episodes we've enjoyed in the past month or so.

Some new Lioraisms:
  • Liora is speaking almost in sentences now. "No mommy work" or "Liora no want" are some common phrases we're hearing. I usually agree with the first one! She also still loves to tell people to sit down.
  • She is reading along with her nightime books now. This is especially funny for the book "Momma, Do You Love Me?" because it is set in a native alaskan family. Liora can say such words as umiak and mukluks!
  • Liora is becoming much more particular about what she wears. We've always known she likes to pick out her outfits, but she now will take something off after she's considered it for a while and pick out something new. She is also showing interest in glittery barrettes! If she gets a new piece of clothing, she needs to put it on right away. If she doesn't like what I am wearing, she suggests I change. Most of the time I take her advice.
  • She still loves pasta best, but now is asking for it at every meal of the day.
  • "Ice!" is a favorite in her water now. She wants her drinks cold.
  • She likes to tell people when it is "their turn." Lately it has been mommy's turn to do bath and put Liora to bed; we're working on getting back to daddy's turn. Being away from him for a week has meant we have to rebuild their relationship a bit.
OK, now to this post. You may remember that over July 4th weekend, Auntie Elizabeth made a gift of sidewalk chalk to Liora. Well, Liora loves to draw on the sidewalk (and on paper as well...she is an artiste!). These photos are from one of her drawing sessions at our townhouse rental--we will miss you townhouse.
