In mid-June, we headed to vacation, first stop, California! Specifically, Marina del Rey to visit Meme and Amity. The girls did really well on the non-stop flight. The next day, we went to the Santa Monica pier for a little fun close to home after the long trip.
Starting off on the rides with a slow/tame one.
Waiting for the rides to open; the girls loved looking at the ocean.
Ramping it up a bit, for a ride on the ferris wheel.
Then, Liora surprised us all by going on her first roller coaster ride, not once, but twice!
She loved it!
We ended the day with a short trip to the beach.
It was pretty much Kaya's first time at the ocean, and she was a bit unsure at first, but they both grew to love it.
The next day, we headed to Disneyland! We had a great time, meeting lots of princesses, going on more amusement park rides, attending some shows.
The day started with reading newspapers in bed with Meme.
We met Olaf, first thing!
Then Doc McStuffins.
We went on some rides while we waited for our appointed time to meet Elsa and Anna from Frozen.
Then we met Elsa and Anna!
We then had some time before we went to a Frozen sing-a-long theatre production. So we went to talk to Crush, the talking turtle from Finding Nemo. We weren't expecting much, but Liora was the first kid to talk to Crush! Then, we went on MORE rides before taking a break for our lunch with some more PRINCESSES.
First, we met Ariel.
Princesses stopped by our table all during lunch, including Sleeping Beauty...
...Tiana...
...Jasmine...
...and Cinderella.
We were pretty sleepy the end of lunch, but rallied for Liora's second roller coaster of the week, and more rides on the swings, carousel, and ferris wheel.
We were pretty exhausted by the end of the day. The girls fell asleep on the way home, face first.
