In mid-June, we traveled to Los Angeles to visit Grandma MeMe and Grandpa Amity. Mommy and daddy were nervous about the 5+ hour flight and spent days preparing for the trip, buying a portable dvd player, finding little things we thought she'd like to play with, getting advice from other moms (thanks for the lollipop idea Aunt Gabi), and planning our carry-on luggage capacity.
Here's Liora looking out the window at her airplane in Baltimore--she can say airplane now, of course. And the little cars that bring luggage to the plane? Those are choo-choos!
I know I wasn't giving my little girl enough credit, but she took the plane ride very, very well. We only had to whip out the the dvd player once. She took a 1.5 hour long nap. She didn't cry at all.
When we landed, we found MeMe right away. Liora was very happy to see her. We had a quick drive to their brand new and beautiful apartment.
Liora made herself at home from the start. One of the things she loved about the apartment was all of the things to sit on. This green chair is in their bedroom, under some childhood portraits of MeMe and Aunt Nurit.
I think she definitely looks like an Erger here!
When Amity came home, Liora ran up and gave him a big hug--all of the skyping we do definitely helps her feel familiar with people. That night, we got ourselves situated, ate a yummy pasta meal with asparagus, and relaxed. That was another thing that was very nice about the apartment--it's just a great place to relax. That is probably because MeMe and Amity took SUCH good care of us; we are forever thankful.
We'll post more soon about all of the adventures we had on the trip. Liora had a blast, and so did we!
